Common questions
How do I split a bill?
Tap Scan, photograph or upload your receipt, review the items, choose who's on the bill and who paid, then assign items to each person. SlashTab calculates everyone's share including tax, tip, and fees.
Can I add someone who doesn't have SlashTab?
Yes. When splitting a bill, tap Add from contacts to add a guest. They'll appear on the bill, and you can use Share bill to send them what they owe. Guests do not need an account.
How do I add friends?
Open Friends, tap Add Friends, and search by name or handle. If they're not on SlashTab yet, use Invite to send them a link.
Why didn't my receipt scan correctly?
Receipt scanning works best with a clear, well-lit photo. Crumpled receipts, handwriting, and unusual layouts can cause mistakes. Always review and edit items before saving — you're responsible for verifying the bill is correct.
Does SlashTab move money?
No. SlashTab only calculates who owes what. To pay someone back, use Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or another method outside the app. SlashTab is not affiliated with those services.
How do friends see my payment info?
Friends can see the Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle details you save in Settings. Non-friends can find you in search but won't see your payment handles until you become friends.
Who can see a bill I shared?
Anyone with the bill link can view it in a browser, even without a SlashTab account. Only share links with people you trust.
How do I mark someone as paid?
Open the bill and tap Mark as paid on their row. This records the balance as settled in SlashTab — it does not transfer money.
How do reminders work?
If you paid and a friend still owes on a bill, you can send them a reminder from the bill detail screen. Reminders are rate-limited to once every 24 hours per person per bill.
Can I use Siri with SlashTab?
Yes. On supported iPhones, you can ask Siri things like how much you owe a friend, what you spent at a restaurant, or to open a bill. Answers are based on your saved SlashTab data — always confirm important amounts in the app.
What are the home screen quick actions?
Long-press the SlashTab app icon to jump to Scan Bill, Send Feedback, Open Profile, or your oldest open bill when you have one.
How do I send feedback?
Open the Feedback tab in the app. Choose Report an issue or Request a feature, write your message, and optionally attach screenshots for bugs. You need to be signed in and online to send feedback.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, friends, and account data. Bills you participated in may keep your name so others' records stay intact.
I'm not getting notifications
Check iOS Settings → SlashTab → Notifications and make sure alerts are allowed. You also need to be signed in for bill reminders to work.
